A simulation model for evaluating aircraft system operational availability

The cost effective utilisation and acquisition of equipment is vitally important to the air force of any national defence force. This paper describes a simulation model which was developed to aid the decision makers of such an air force in determining aircraft system requirements for carrying out specific missions within different conflict scenarios. Comprehensive validation of the model has not been completed.
